A staple in Canadian knitting, thrummed mittens provide warmth and coziness like no other. These mittens are knit with bulky weight yarn and unspun roving to create the perfect mitten for our northern climate. The traditional ribbed cuff has been replaced with an easy rolled edging, and each size has been designed so that there are no gaps in the “fluff” inside the mitten.
splitThe yarn and roving for these kits are both sourced from small farms in Ontario. The rustic bulky yarn will keep the wind out, while the soft, fluffy roving creates a cozy and comfortable lining.
Kit includes enough hand-dyed yarn and roving to make any of the three adult sizes. Pattern includes a photo tutorial as well as a link to a video tutorial for making and inserting the thrums.
